Need a Change in Your Bodybuilding Workout Program? Once in a while, it's great to change things up. Whether it's for stoking the interest in trying something new, or if it's to hit the body from a different angle. Both reasons can bring new results and discoveries about what works best to build muscle for your body. Sometimes I've found that it's good to change something in your routine and then stick to that for a while to really get good at a particular movement or routine before switching again. I'd say at least 3 weeks is good, especially when you want to build coordination in a new exercise so that you can gain some strength.
